Housekeeping (Pt 2)...Why You Have To Do It For Love

You are ready for love, right? A heart warming, soul satisfying relationship that fulfills you from deep within. So here's the deal, before you should even consider setting your sites on your knight in shining Armour, there is something you need to do to ensure he has a clear path to your heart...

No, I'm not talking about the arduous chore you do from day to day or weekly to clean up around the house. Dusting, mopping, making sure you take out the garbage on the regular so as not to stink up your living environment. Putting time and effort into decorating, organizing and aroma-tizing your space to to make it warm and welcoming for you and your guest.
No, this housekeeping has to do with you as a person

Look at it this way, you are the house. Your heart is housed within you along with your mind and soul. Over time... just like your outer living environment there is build up and debris, stuff  that has to be cleaned up or cleared out. With matters of the heart, if you don't continue to do regular housekeeping within yourself, chances of meeting the right man and experiencing the love and bliss you desire becomes impossible.

Think about it, who would want to join forces with you if you are still holding on to baggage from a previous relationship. Worst yet, you continue to return to the relationship when it's convenient for both of you. Although not always easy emotionally, your time and effort would be better served eliminating a relationship exactly like this or something similar then, allowing yourself to heal for love that was intended in the first place.

There are a number of ways you can dance around personal housekeeping that may seem O.K.
Keeping old phone numbers, pictures of him (or the two of you together), a piece of jewelery he gave you, on and on. Holding on to any and everything conscious or unconsciously, never doing any real internal housekeeping that sets you in place for love success.

Of course, there are those times you can get away with a "quick clean" to satisfy an immediate need... like a last minute get together, unexpected guest or just keeping things together until you can do something else. Your guest never know the difference, for them everything is in it's place and they had a great time. But unlike the occasional sweeping-things-under-the-carpet way out with your living space it is not a good idea to follow the same recourse with your heart.

For loves sake-
Let it go. Give yourself permission to experience a fresh start. There is a great big beautiful world out there with lots of love, life and happiness that has your name on it. Take this time to rid yourself of personal junk, anything and everything that would hinder your Mr. Right from recognizing you as the love of his life by doing a little...housekeeping.

Love-Changing Success Stories & Ah- Ha Moments
Anonymous said, regarding a popular blog post (Here's An Observation) I appreciate your insight Amanda. So powerful. Too many of us go through life this way - used to the way things are and have always been. Awareness can be the first step to making a positive change. The phrase "even though my fingers were curled in an uncomfortable position and the weight of the bag added to unnecessary stress" really spoke to me and reminded me of how we will endure (even to the point of pain or discomfort) for the sake of a relationship. It can be different. It can be better...if we just put down the bag!
